OverDrive Opportunities
What a great database we provide to those people who want to listen to a book rather than read it in the traditional way, without having to actually go into the library to check out an audiobook. I had no problems downloading, but haven't tried it yet on my home computer. I can't see myself using this while on my PC, since I usually am listening to my iTunes then, but I am anxiously awaiting the moment it will be compatible with my iPod. My husband and I currently listen to Playaways while working out at our fitness club, but the titles are very limited in this collection. I hope the OverDrive collection will have current titles. We will both be avid users of this service once we can use our iPods. It is also a valuable tool for traveling, since I will be able to download a book onto my iPod, and then listen to it on our car stereo (with our iPod adapter), or on an airplane, or even on many of the magnificent beaches throughout the world! It's also an excellent way to learn foreign languages in advance of traveling to countries, being able to burn the lessons onto your own CD to keep for practice and reference.

Definitely del.icio.us
The site del.icio.us has been one of the most useful sites to learn about. I have replaced my favorites list with del.icio.us bookmarks and can now easily tag new websites that I come across. I especially like that I can access my favorites on any computer and can discover more interesting websites through social bookmarking. I already found a practical online cookbook through Sno-Isle's 20 for 2.0 delicious page and when I tagged some of my favorites with Books, then further delved into that tag, I discovered many new awesome websites that others had also similarly tagged. This website will be particularly handy when traveling, since favorite sites can be looked at from any computer in the world. I know I will use it when traveling to North Carolina in December, accessing my favorites while using my sister's computer. It will also save time for my son when he is traveling in Southeast Asia since he can access his sites using del.icio.us while logged into a computer at an Internet Cafe where he will be charged for time spent. Del.icio.us is definitely the site for me!
